This summer I turn 20 and he turns 21. I know he’s excited to finally be able to drink legally in America like he can at home! :)
I don't believe that a long distance relationship can truly be understood, except by those who have been or are involved in one. And unfortunately, it seems that too often friends and family don't show enough support, enough faith in this kind of love. This is a place to find support.
I've been in a long distance relationship for the past three years. And when I say long distance, I mean long distance. Three thousand miles to be exact. And these three years have been by far, the happiest of my life.
I hope to use this blog to document the progression of our relationship. The frustrations and often great loneliness that comes with being committed to someone so far away. But also the pure joy of love.

Day 2: Your ages
You want to know what happiness is? It’s waking up in the middle of the night for no reason, shifting under the blankets and feeling the heat of the person next to you. You turn around and see them in their most peaceful, innocent, and vulnerable state. They breathe as though the weight of the world lays on anyone’s shoulder but their own. You smile, kiss their face in the most gentle manner so as not to wake them. You turn back around and an involuntary grin forms on your own face. You feel an arm wrap around your waist, and you know it doesn’t get any better than this.

Today hasn’t been the best of days so far. It is finals week for both of us so our stress levels are through the roof. It is so incredibly frustrating to see him dealing with having so much work and stress and me not being able to do anything to help him. Blaaaah
I did wake up to seven emails from him in my inbox though. That is always a lovely way to start the day. :)
